Lotsa Bumps, Lotsa Falls

Yesterday, you attempted climbing the stair steps.

You are always trying to stand up and love crawl-climbing the bed.

You also end up bumping your head lots of times now, or eager to get something, end up falling off the sofa bed or miscalculating your lunge.

You like trying to scare off your older brother by a scream.... or making properties and territories by screaming. Sometimes, when Kuya sees you going after his chair, he'd get it, and you'll start screaming at him with teeth clenched.

And yes, everything your Kuya is using, playing with, or just anything that's near him... you want.

You have lost most of your eppetite. Where before, we could fill your plate with food, now, we have to settle for a few bites here and there. I hope it's because you've been teething and has gotten sick a few times.

You tend to be surly, especially in the afternoon. But at night, you're usually a gleeful boy. And usually, you get fussy around the time a month ends/begins... fussy enough for me to put you sleep downstairs so we don't disturb your brother and father.

You are the apple of your grandfathers' eyes... they both say you're their favorite, and I think you know it.

You can be such a drama queen sometimes... typical of the baby in the family where you pretend to cry, or use crying as a weapon against your brother, or would wail for effect.

You really look a lot like me and Lolo Buboy... but I see a lot of Pyro in you too, esply with the gaps in your teeth.

You started standing by supporting yourself on your own before you turned 9 months. That had me surprised because I didn't expect you to try standing so soon.

When upset or happy, you babble "a-ti-ti-ti-ti" and would call out "mama" when you want me or feel needy.

Despite seeing you as competition, your Kuya still refuses to 'let others take you away' :)

I heard you wheeze while breathing today... and I'm sad. 3rd day into nebulizing you and I hear that... I don't want you to have asthma.

Miscellaneous FB Updates:

Yey... Yamee just gnawed his toe kanina. hehe.
May 2

*~*

cannot invoke "I just gave birth" as an excuse for all the flab anymore... 'coz Yamee is now six months old! :)

*~*

watching Yamee try to catch bubbles is an exercise in AMAZING :)
watching him try eating them... an exercise in futility :D

*~*

watching a baby scratch his head or pull his hair... adorable!
having him try and eat your hair... ewww!

*~*

In the midst of invoking will power that antihistamines will be enough for my allergy attack last night, Yamee learned to slam his face on the bed and giggle over that. My morbid thought was, "Heck, at least the brothers are amusing each other as I go."

I am just thankful this allergy attack was a mild and slow-acting one, puffed eyes and all.

*~*

The other day I was aghast to see Yakee hitting Yamee on the chest. When I asked him why he's angry, he said, "Yamee kicked me on the face." *oh gosh, start of my referee-ing days*

*~*

If it's really the end of the world at 6 PM today... one thing that I think will sadden me for sure is not having seen Yamee walk. Since the baby is my spitting image, I wanna see if he walks like a duck like me too :D
May 21

*~*

We are naturally attracted to power. Case in point: Yamee will start kicking and gurgling with excitement, sometimes even really crawl, for our drab-looking, gray-colored TV remote... but NR ever for his plushies and rattles.

*~*

I have been feeling it for a while now but it was only tonight that it finally erupted for some visual proof... Yamee has one tooth! Good luck nga lang seeing it for he guards it so well with his tongue :D

*~*

wanted to sleep but Yamee had udder plans...

*~*

One of the perks of being a sahm is waking up and being given that smile as if you're the most beautiful thing in the planet... everyday... I am missing it though because even before Yamee can smile at me that way, his Kuya has already dived and gigil-d him.

*~*

yakee put the ribbon on, pirate daw sya. i don't know how... haha. then yamee wanted the ribbon too.

lagot tayo kay pappie.. but at least, if we have a girl, hindi naman pala masagwa :D

*~*

while kissing Yamee's feet
Yakee: "Mmmm, the best brother in the world Mommy"

super tender moment sana if he didn't also just wake the best brother :D

*~*

It's bittersweet that you are now 7 months old.. where has our baby gone? But we love you and we just know it, you'll learn to talk earlier than you'll walk :D

*~*

Amazing to see Yamee already knowing how to hide in my arms when he's playing with Yakee. But nothing is more amazing than waking up together, the three of us, and smiling as I watch the brothers turn to each other to grin at each other. *bliss*

*~*

My son is trying to exert ownership and it's cute... but sorry darling Yamee, the bike ain't yours. The guitar too. And all remotes are mine :p

*~*

ang prob na lang.... we went so organic, you don't like jarred baby food... argh

*~*

Is really wondering how Yamee can grind his teeth, when he only has two teeth in his lower gums and they're just sprouting pa lang. I can't help but wince whenever I hear his grinding noises eh. Sus.

*~*

These days always find Yamee gleeful, like a pirate over stolen treasure, over some forbidden something he's managed to grab or crawl to. Heaven help me, I have another typical boy. *when he woke up, he turned to Yakee and babbled, "Ey, kh-ya"*
July 29
*~*

Train your baby to master crawling... set him after an ant :)

Labyu, demanding Yamee!

*~*

This week... I have to bring Yamee for an allergy consult; attend my first PTA meeting; celebrate that our bunso is 9 months old already; finalize HK IT and lists; support LATCH at the All About Baby Fair.. and hopefully buy more Eden stuff (right Jojo?) :D

Put this way... I am reminded again of how blessed I am.

*~*

Yamee on a walker means a lot of things crashing on the floor... and a very stressed Yakee over his toys.

*~*

... only 3 more months and it's your birthday already baby... and Mommy still hasn't done anything for it! Meanwhile, thank you for letting us all sleep last night, eventhoough you had a bad cold too. Love you

*~*

Pedia ok'd ice cream for the wee one... for his teething woes :D Guess who's eating ice cream though...

*~*

After caring for Yakee to get better... Yamee naman. Just told hubs I really don't want a 3rd child na 'coz we're a bad, allergic combination. *exhausted mode*

Giggly, Antsy Boy

Your changing routine is affecting us all. You have started doing the around-the-world thing in our bed and would even sometimes start kicking your father, every 30 minutes, in your sleep.

From a very happy baby, you are now always all kinds of antsy. I have started bathing you twice a day just to keep you comfy... something I wasn't doing before because you seemed to catch colds easily.

Your first visit to a pedia for a consultation that isn't scheduled is to have rashes on your chest checked. The pedia said it's skin asthma and prescribed ointments. Like what I said, I decided to just bathe you twice a day instead.

You laugh like a loon. Just today/yesterday, you woke up Tito Jun with your shrieky laughter. You also like shrieking/screaming... and I hope that's because Kuya is loud and not because Mommy's always angry.

You fell in love with your Tita Maricel... and would even appeal to be held by her when you saw her on webcam! You'd sleep so easily every time she holds you.

You love the sling and would also sleep within minutes of being placed there. And I was able to put there in the kangaroo carry!

It's only recently that you've started to almost really sit without support (so I haven't really used the bath chair on you), and not yet doing it on your own. You like turning over and you can also sort of crawl now. Maybe I should put you on paces and make you go after toys. But... which toy? :)

Like your Kuya, we're not following the pedia's instructions. You eat every other day now... because I can't stand the piteosuly hungry look and exclamations you give when we put you in the rocker to watch us eat our meal. So far, you have had squash and rice cereal. All organic, baby :) If you're going to be fat, you're going to be fat eating veggies!

==================

Miscellaneous FB status about you:

has quite forgotten how truly amazing it is to watch a person unfold from a baby, and how truly wonderful it is to wake up to smiles filled with nothing but love... to be deemed perfect and beautiful.... makes me reconsider having a 3rd child, haha

*~*

una kitang pinagnasaan

*~*

can't believe Yamee will be 4 months old already tomorrow... shucks, soon, he's getting married na :( *waaahhh*

*~*

Me: Yakee, please tell Yamee (who is gnawing on her arm) that Mommy is not food.

Yakee: No, Mommy, it's ok. He's just practicing.

*~*

Yakee has been telling Pappie that he's angry with me because I'm always taking care of Yamee. Don't know what to do with the information since I feel it's my duty to give as much caring to Yamee as I did with Yakee... plus, Yamee keeps on crying from being woken up or gigil by Kuya. *disaster*

*~*

Yamee is such a happy baby, despite barfing thrice, pooping once and no sleep since 9 PM. *exhaustion*

*~*

last attempt at a Milkaholic pic coz all their shirts are getting small for them na

*~*

Everytime nobody isn't looking, Yamee rolls over. Sniff, my bunso is becoming less and less of a baby everyday... smelling less like a baby too (with all that drool on his face, fingers, neck, all the pillows and beddings...) :D

*~*

was going thru the boys' clothes.

Ackkk... Yamee has these cute Zara polos na for 3-6 months pala from Sancha Arevalo. I thought kasi for 6-9 months so I wasn't putting them out for use. Eh Yamee's turning 5 months na... *disaster*

*~*

knows Yamee didn't mean anything by it, but to actually hear "Momma" from his lips was like a ton of white chocolate *sweet* (Apr. 07)

*~*

finds herself calling Yamee 'Yamnyoy' a lot lately... when she didn't really like Yakee's take on his brother's nickname before... mainly because Yamee is turning 5 months old in 3 days... and it's soooo bittersweet how time flies when you're raising sons.

*~*

‎5 months old today... already likes splashing water on his own... always playing with saliva and blowing raspberries (spitting too)... always sad when we're eating and not giving him any... his Kuya's biggest fan!

*~*

Oh gosh... sana lang 15 yrs from now, there won't be a pic like this... where Yakee's grinning as he puffs on a ciggy... and Yamee is trying to light up his *arrghhh*

*~*

Yesterday, my son started repeatedly hitting my arms because I refused to give him a cookie. Complete with shrieks & screams! And I am referring to Yamee. *disaster* (april 13, 2011)

*~*

was looking forward to adoration only a baby can give to its Mom... alas, though, Yakee is the apple of Yamee's eyes! Hirit naman ni Pappie, "so dapat talaga magka-girl tayo para may fan naman ako?"

*~*

has to believe that she has what it takes to parent her cantankerous 5-mo old and spirited 3-yr old. *sigh*

*~*

Yamee is such an Arevalo here. Proud of Yakee for being so supportive and happy for his younger bro. Sorry Bel Amante- Aurelio, kulit ni Jojo Arevalo eh.

Wet spots on the bed? Yamee. Scattered toys on the floor? Yakee. But the time when i'd have to really guess who did what and both boys denying everything is coming oh so soon.

*~*

thinks its actually a little pitiful that Yamee keeps trying to eat the corn print on the rocker whenever he's there. Talk about PG :D

Barfy Boy

You got a fever last Saturday... the first time you were sick. You have also been a lot fussy the day and night before that. I tried giving you Tempra when your fever reached 38 degrees but you barfed it out, along with milk inside you. I tried giving you again but you barfed again. So we took you to a pedia who prescribed paracetamol suppositories.

You did not get a fever again. You're still a lot fussy though. I think you may be teething, and that you're the kind of baby who fusses about it... unlike Kuya.

And you also don't like Ferlin. You barfed again when I gave it to you. Sigh.

*~*

Miscellaneous FB updates:

finds it funny that Yamee is telling her which boobie is due by the fist he's gnawing

Updates

There's really not much you do yet, except sleep and feed. But lately, you've been mastering the art of thumbsucking but you're still failing miserably. I find it funny how you'd get upset because you cannot put a finger in your mouth properly and when you do, it turns out that it's still not what you want.

You're chugging 4 ounces from a feeding bottle already when am away. And happily enough, no more gas from bottlefeeding. You're also getting used to sleeping beside Kuya and do not mind much when he's all gigil on you.

You still look a lot like him, it's really like deja vu all the time. Oh, but you still sound like a cat and Kuya never did. And you like having conversations now, which makes everyone just really adore you.
